Truman State University
School of Business
This school is selective in admission of students; most are from Missouri. Freshmen are assigned a peer mentor who is a participating upperclassman that maintains office hours to assist the incoming students. Truman University, a larger school in this list of accredited business administration degree programs in Missouri, has 240 student organizations including business and professional student organizations and fraternities. More than 90 of the university classes have fewer than 40 students and the student–to-faculty ratio is 16:1. Study-abroad opportunities are available in China and through a “Europe in Transition” program that studies current trends and issues in the EEU.
Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration
This is a 120 credit hour program. In 1985, the state of Missouri charged Truman to be the state’s “premier” liberal arts and science university. To that end, the school has developed a foundational curriculum that is required of all students, no matter the major. The program is divided into two parts: Essential Skills and Modes of Inquiry. Included in the skills are courses such as “Freshman Writing as Critical Thinking.” There are classes in speech, math, statistics, computer literacy and personal well–being (health). Modes of Inquiry classes include: visual and performing arts, literature, history, social sciences, philosophy and religion, among others. This degree is for students who want an intermediate proficiency in a foreign language. There are five concentrations. The curriculum includes 31-57 credits in liberal arts, 1-3 credits in a required Missouri Statute course, 0-6 credits in a foreign language, 42 in the major, 15-19 in support classes, and electives to make up the 120 hours.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
Both the accounting and the business courses at the Truman School of Business are accredited by the AACSB, which makes the university an elite member of a club numbering only 177. Students in this program must take the university-required 40-credit hour liberal arts course division as all majors, but including information technologies and introductions to financial accounting. They must maintain a 2.5 GPA. There are also 40 credits in 300-400 level courses, 24 in regular business classes, 15-25 credit hours in support courses, 42 in the major, and electives to make the program 120 credit hours.

In addition to a solid fundamental business education with opportunities like the study-abroad program that allows students to choose one of 60 countries for an international experience, this school boasts many innovative programs. The College of Business houses several centers that give students an adjunct to their classroom experience as well as provide services to the community. In addition, the school has an integrative business experience that gives students a real $5,000 loan to set up an actual organization and then expects them to use the profits from that business to set up projects that benefit the community.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
First-year students and transfer students are not considered admitted to the program until they complete the BSBA admissions requisites. Students must take College Algebra, Micro-economics, Macro-economics, Accounting I and II, Computer Based Technologies, Business Statistics and Business Law, or have taken them in an associate degree program from an accredited community college. Most classes in this program are experiential and team-based. It is offered online but students are required to attend two classes a week for eight consecutive semesters to complete the last 16 courses. There are 120 to 150 credit hours consisting of general education, core and concentration classes as well as electives. Some of the concentrations are offered in other disciplines; the management emphasis, for instance, is offered through the Hospitality division.
Master of Business Administration
The MBA program at the University of Central Missouri requires undergraduate preparation. Some required courses can be completed after the student is admitted to the graduate school, if they are not in his undergraduate program. In addition, some of the concentrations require other pre-requisite courses. Prospective students should study the requirements on the school website. There are six concentrations under this degree: accounting, finance, information systems, marketing, sports business and general. The Summit campus also offers a concentration in Ethical Strategic Leadership. Students must declare and complete all coursework in a concentration (nine to fifteen credit hours depending on selection). The 33 credit MBA is offered through evening classes, and can be completed in one year. The 18 hours of core classes are taken in pairs. There are nine to fifteen concentration hours (depending upon selection) and three to six elective credit hours.

Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business
The University of Missouri awards more than 1,000 degrees annually. In-state undergraduate tuition is $9,430 annually, and non-resident tuition is $22,822. The Trulaske College, with 4,300 enrolled students, has the highest-ranked MBA program in Missouri. It was the first public business school in Missouri to be AACSB accredited. The school’s signature building is Cornell Hall. This facility has 17 classrooms, an auditorium, a lecture hall, breakout rooms and full Wi-Fi. The school is also home to eight centers including the Missouri Bankers Chair.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
Students in this program are classified as lower-level (undeclared) or upper-level (admitted to emphasis area). The first two years of study in the program are the same for all business students. They consist of general education and foundational courses. At the end of the sophomore year students apply to the concentration area. The degree program contains 120 credit hours of which a maximum of 30 are in the emphasis. The course requisites ensure that 40 percent of coursework is in classes other than business. There are 32 credits in general education, 28 in upper level, 27 in required core classes, 30 in emphasis support plus a three credit senior capstone. Students can request degree audits to assure they are on path with their course selection and schedule.
Master of Business Administration
This military-friendly school offers the famous “Crosby MBA,” and is rated as number 58 in the country by US News and World Report. Bloomberg Business Week ranks it high for value. Seventy-four percent of Crosby students leave the program with little or no school debt. Students take foundational courses first, and then meet with faculty advisors who help them choose electives to tailor their programs. There are 57 credit hours in the degree; nearly half are electives. Students choose from 14 concentrations, certificates or even get dual degrees. The experiential learning program is team-based and stresses collaboration. The school offers study-abroad options for global perspectives. The courses are taught in a module format that allows for more intense study. The in-state tuition is $26, 547 for the MBA and non-residents can expect to pay $57,407.
PhD in Business Administration
This program prepares students for careers as university researchers, as teachers or as senior research professionals in business or government. It boasts 100 percent placement upon graduation. Most students in the doctoral degree program have the opportunity to teach undergraduates in their specialty areas. There are four concentrations: Accountancy, Finance, Marketing and Management. This is designed as a residential program; students reside on the campus while they complete their studies. the reason for this is to make sure they have access to school resources while they work on their dissertations. During the first semester students choose a faculty advisor. By the end of the first year, they should apply to the Doctoral Program Committee. Coursework includes research activities and written proposals for papers. There are 15 hours of business core classes, in-depth major concentration, support and collateral requisites, an on-going seminar and the dissertation. In addition to defending the dissertation, there is a comprehensive exam at the conclusion of the program.

This school, founded in 1953, is named for Henry Bloch, one of the founders of H and R Block. There are 60 faculty members and 1669 students in the school. The undergraduate and graduate entrepreneur programs are rates in the top 25 by the Princeton Review. US News and World Report ranked the school as number one in the world for research management. The school boasts its Henry W. Bloch Hall for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The center features an innovation lab for brainstorming and simulations. There are experiential classrooms, an atrium and amphitheater, a behavioral research lab, a finance lab and a 200 seat auditorium.
Bachelor of Business Administration
This program teaches strong foundational skills and offers a global perspective. The 123-credit –hour degree path allows students to select an emphasis in enterprise management, entrepreneurship, finance, marketing or real estate. All students are required to take the UMKC core classes which are divided into “focus,” “anchor” and “discourse.” Focus classes include arts and humanities, scientific reasoning, quantitative analysis and human actions, values and ethics. Anchor courses center on writing and communication as well as critical thinking. During the junior and senior years students work on emphasis courses. There are 36 hours of core requirements and 15 in the emphasis area. Graduates of the program will be entrepreneurs with good critical thinking skills, technologically competent and knowledgeable in business and in their specialties.
Master of Business Administration
This 42 hour program is designed for busy professionals. More than half the program can be completed utilizing afternoon classes. The emphasis is on the global nature of economy, and graduates are expected to have core business skills and social responsibility plus leadership and innovation. The degree is formatted along the cohort plan. There is an initial immersion in a 24-hour sequence of core classes. Afterward, students can pursue options in their emphasis areas and their capstone project. All students are asked to take 12 hours of short, non-credit classes, called ecosystem classes that enrich their educational experiences. This program also emphasizes independent study. The emphasis areas are: Entrepreneurship, Finance, Global Business, Management, Real Estate, Supply Chain and Operational management and Information Systems.

College of Business Administration
This university ranked in the second tier of US News and World report Best Colleges. Their mission is to offer “quality, value and access” in education. The school is the only research-based university in St. Louis, and the business school aspires to prepare both undergraduate and graduate students to obtain professional success in a complex global economy. It also aims to develop new knowledge and better teaching methods. The school’s accounting program is one of only five in Missoui to have AACSB accreditation. Students engage with the community through projects and internships.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
The BSBA degree at the College of Business Administration focuses on critical thinking and problem solving. The school admits students to the business school immediately instead of waiting until they declare majors. This 120 credit-hour program includes 48 to 60 hours in business. Of that, 30 hours are business core and the remaining 18 to 30 are approved electives. A minimum of 18 of these must be in 3xxx-4xxx-level courses. The lower division classes, taken at the beginning of the program, include classes like Information Systems, Finance, Accounting and the Legal Environment of Business. Upper level classes consist of seven core of which the math and economics components are satisfied by the general education requirements. The program also includes internships, study abroad programs and experiential courses to give students a global outlook.
Master of Business Administration
There are three types of MBA offered at the College of Business. The Professional MBA is an online, 23-month program consisting of 48 credits. It includes a seven-to-ten day international experience and is the only hybrid program (there are some attendance requirements) offered by an AACSB-accredited school. The Flex MBA is 39 credits unless a student has no business background. In that case it is 48 credits. There are foundations classes, core and capstone courses plus nine hours of “advanced topic” courses. The International MBA is a degree program for those who already have fluency in a foreign language. It is a two-year program; one year is spent in an international internship. It is possible to earn degrees in both the US and in the host country with this program.
PhD in Business Logistics and Supply Chain Management
This degree prepares graduates to manage the logistics for global businesses. The instructional component delivers a solid foundation in skills needed to manage multi-million dollar organizations and the research component teaches applied research to actually improve protocols in logistic management. The degree has 27 hours in business and research foundational courses, nine in a supporting field and 33 in the emphasis. All students spend two semesters teaching at the college of business. There are two final exams, a minimum of six dissertation credits and candidates for the doctoral degree must submit a paper in a regional, national or international forum.

Bloomberg Business Week ranked this school as the #5 undergraduate business program. Eighty-three percent of classes have less than fifty students. The school has a 98% rate for graduate employment within 90 days of matriculation. Half of the students study abroad in a program that includes 15 countries. There are nine majors, and ten minors at the school, and it boasts the Skandalaris Entrepreneurship Center where undergraduates can take a 10 week entrepreneurship course.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
This flexible degree includes majors in accounting, finance, economics and strategy, entrepreneurship, healthcare management, international business, marketing, operations and supply and organization and human resources. The first two years are spent in basic education and business foundational courses. Students declare their majors during the sophomore year and then design their degree programs around the electives. The 120 credit hour course consists of 42.5 professional business requirements, 12 units of business electives, 48 units of liberal arts, and additional electives. There are required business foundation courses and a required career preparation course as well as group projects and research.
Master of Business Administration
This 66-credit program combines required and elective courses that stand upon a strong foundation of leadership skills and critical thinking. Almost two-thirds of the courses are electives, making this program extremely flexible. During the initial fall semester, students take the foundation courses and classes that focus on career strategies and critical thinking. Then, in the second semester and into the second year, they design their career paths (the business school calls these “career platforms”) using the elective courses. The elective courses are either three-credit, semester long offerings or mini-courses of 1.5 credits that last for six weeks. Students can also take up to nine credit hours from other graduate programs offered at the university. Students have the opportunity to get real-world investment experience from managing a portion of the school’s endowment fund. Practicum consists of providing financial advice to businesses and international concerns. This is a team effort that culminates in a presentation with recommendations for change.
