Sport Management Degree from Southern Nazarene University
Southern Nazarene University offers a Master of Arts in Sports Management and Administration, commonly abbreviated MASMA, from the College of Professional and Graduate Studies. The program is intended for students who possess a bachelor’s degree and who wish to pursue a career in the sports management field.
The MASMA program requires the completion of 36 credit hours, including 12 courses that blends face-to-face and online instruction. The program is offered either completely online or evenings one night a week on campus. The required courses include social issues in sport, sport finance, organizational communication, sport facility planning and management, ethics in sport management, sport marketing, media production for sport managers, management of organizational behavior, sport law, sport governance and compliance, human resources management and administration, and sport organization, leadership and management.
After completion of the program, students will be able to evaluate ethical situations in sports management and develop solutions using a Christian framework. They will possess the ability to assess compliance and governance issues and legal matters related to human resources, risk, facility design, and contracts. Students will demonstrate the finance and accounting abilities for ethical decision making. They will have a solid understanding of the economic influence of sport on today’s society. Students will also interpret and assess research in sports management.

Southern Nazarene University participates in the Federal Work Study program that provides students with the change to work to help pay for college expenses.
