Minor in Business Administration
Available for all undergraduate students at NMSU except those seeking the Bachelor of Accountancy or Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), the Minor in Business Administration is designed to complement the skills students gain in his or her major discipline by offering a study of current business principles. Students will receive a broad overview on the latest techniques utilized in organizing, planning, designing, managing, and leading various public and private organizations in any industry. For completion of the minor, students must have at least 18 total credits in the College of Business, including a minor of 9 credits in upper-division major business coursework.
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Starting in Spring 2015, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program will begin being offered in an online delivery format to provide qualified graduate students with a unique combination of flexibility, rigor, and quality with AACSB accreditation. Currently, the MBA program is taught in a hybrid format that combines evening coursework at off-site locations outside of Las Cruces with convenient online learning. Within the 36-credit program that is typically completed in two to three years by working professionals on a part-time basis, students will receive a solid background in business practices as well as the problem-solving and interpersonal skills needed to become successful global leaders.
Ph.D. in Business Administration
In order to provide graduate students with the flexibility to pursue a wide range of career opportunities within academia and industry in today’s dynamic global marketplace, the Ph.D. in Business Administration program has been established to train researchers and educators who will shape business practices. With an emphasis on preparing students to understand the complexities of modern business, the program provides specialized area of expertise in Management or Marketing. Regardless of students’ research and teaching interests within the field, all students will receive the valuable opportunity to work closely with departmental faculty members to attain the knowledge needed to make a difference in the business world.

Offered in an accelerated format for 37 credit hours or a focused format for 43 credit hours, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is designed to cover the general concepts and common body of knowledge all successful business leaders need. Graduate students can concentrate the MBA in Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Financial Management, Information Assurance, International Management, International Management in Latin America, Management Information Systems, Management of Technology, Marketing Management, Operations Management, Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management, or Policy and Planning. Students can also pursue the MBA in a dual degree format to earn a Master of Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering (MEME), Juris Doctor (JD), Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.), or M.A. in Latin American Studies concurrently.
