After successfully completing the program, students will be able to assess the effectiveness of each member’s leadership and communication skills within an interdisciplinary project team, prioritize project needs with regard to risks, schedules, cost, resources, and scope, and they will be able to analyze the nine knowledge areas and five project development process groups within the Project Management Body of Knowledge.
About Bellevue University
Located in Bellevue, Nebraska, Bellevue University is a non-profit, private university that first opened in 1966 as Bellevue College. From the start, the school has focused on providing educational outreach and adult education. By 1974, Bellevue had become the fourth largest private university in the state, adding a library, student center, and gymnasium. In 1977, the school became fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Increasing competition from nearby colleges in the 1980s created financial problems which nearly led to the school’s closure. However, Bellevue’s third president, John Mueller, was able to refocus the college and begin its expansion. The college offered its first accelerated bachelor’s degree program in 1987 and its first master’s degree program in 1990. In 1994, Bellevue College changed its name to Bellevue University. As of 2011, 80 percent of its undergraduates were 25 years of age or older. Bellevue enrolls more than 10,000 students per year in a number of graduate and undergraduate programs. If a student does not meet this requirement, he or she may build credits directly with Bellevue University. In order to be admitted into the program, students must submit a completed application for admission, pay a nonrefundable $50 processing fee, and send copies of official transcripts from all previously attended institutions such as an official high school transcript or GED certificate. Those who can show evidence of an associate’s degree need not provide high school documentation. Prospective students should also keep in mind that Bellevue College cannot offer distance education classes to students who live in Texas, Puerto Rico, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Maryland, Kentucky, Kansas, Arkansas, and Alabama.
