Ohio Northern University
Dicke College of Business Administration
Ohio Northern University is a private school in Ada and is associated with the Methodist Church. It was founded in 1871 and has recently landed at the number 2 position on a list of the best colleges in the region by “U.S. News” for several years in a row. The school was originally a regular grammar school, but the schoolmaster at the time decided to start offering classes at night for other students who wanted advanced education. Established in the 1870s, OSU was created as a result of the Morrill Act of 1862 and was once an Agricultural and Mechanical school. Most of the first students to attend programs at the school did so in various areas of agriculture and mechanics, but it wasn’t too long before the school started growing and offering additional types of educational opportunities. The school is quite large and according to its statistics, it’s the third largest university campus in the entire country.
